As the NFL’s Week 13 looms up, nobody is expecting a dynamic Drew Brees and his high-flying New Orleans Saints to be stopped or even slowed down when they play the Dallas Cowboys on Friday night.
Both teams head their NFC standings. The Saints in the South Division, the Cowboys in the North. But, that’s about where any similarity in their playing records this season ends.
To start with the Saints with a 10-1 win-loss record are way out in front of their Division (Carolina are second with at 6-5), while the Cowboys, with a pretty ordinary 6-5 record, only hold a share of first place with the Washington Redskins in the NFC North.
It’s no wonder then that US sports bookmakers, the bulk of them in New Jersey and Nevada, have established the crack New Orleans outfit as strong favorites to win.
Odds
Generally, they give Saints winning odds of around -7 with their over/under odds for the match at 52.5.
On Tuesday, it came as no surprise to anyone when the Saints held on to their top spot in the latest AP Pro32 poll when a panel of 12 respected NFL writers all gave them their vote for No 1.
Probably speaking for most of them, Newsday’s Bob Glauber said after the poll, “Right here, right now, Drew Brees is this year’s MVP in a very crowded field of contenders,”
“At almost 40 years old, he’s playing perhaps the best football of his life, with 29 touchdown passes and just two interceptions.”
The NFL’s other 10-1 win-loss front-runner, the Los Angeles Rams, deservedly held on to the No. 2 position in the poll with 3rd place staying with the Kansas City Chiefs. Like the Rams who beat them in Week 11, had a bye last week.
Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, the 2017 Super Bowl champions, remain at No. 4.
Of all the current Super Bowl contenders in chief, the greatest odds being offered in Week 13 are the -16 on the Chiefs beating lowly bottom-loggers Oakland Raiders who have only won two of their nine games this season.
Other Records
Against this, Chiefs have a 9-2 win-loss record.
At -10, the Sports bookmakers also strongly favor the rampant Rams (10-1) to beat the Detroit Lions (4-7) and even though the reigning Super Bowl champions, Philadelphia Eagles have not been flying high and are sitting with a 5-6 record, at 7-1 they are the bookies favorites to beat the Redskins on Tuesday.
But you can see listed below all of Week 13’s NFL fixtures with the win-loss-tie records of each team in brackets followed by the straight bet and over-and-under odds for each match.
