DGE ban OddsShark from New Jersey

DGE ban OddsShark from New JerseyOddsSharks.com has been banned from interacting with any New Jersey sports betting operator. And that’s official.

The ban has been imposed by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE).

The public notice to the banned site was issued by the State’s Office of the Attorney General.

The notice advised OddsSharks that the DGE had take-`n the decision after a thorough review of the site. The site, it found, had been promoting many unauthorized internet sportsbooks to New Jersey punters for some time.

Punters are confused

In May last year, the Supreme Court tossed out the PASPA law forbidding sports betting in the US. Since then OddsSharks has started promoting legal New Jersey sites alongside the illegal ones and this has created confusion.

Punters are not always sure whether the site they are betting on is legitimate or not.

To reinforce the Odds Shark ban the DGE has taken up the matter of illegal betting with all the licensed sportsbook operators of New Jersey.

These include FanDuel, DraftKings, Sugarhouse, BetStars, 888sport, MGMsports, William Hill, Caesars, and PointsBet. They have been informed that they must not do any business with any site promoting illegal gambling.

If they are, they should cease doing so immediately.
