Altogether three sportsbooks are run out of Resorts Casino in Atlantic City.
They include its own recently-launched ResortsCasino.com sportsbook, as well as licensed partners DraftKings and BetStars.
DraftKings, an established American Fantasy Sports giant, became the first operator to open a New Jersey sportsbook in June 2018.
It was followed soon afterward by International sports bookmaker Bet Stars, one of 14 sportsbooks now operational in New Jersey.
This review, however, is specifically about the Resorts Casino sportsbook which is run separately and independently. Click to read the individual Review of DraftKings
The Resorts sportsbook works off SBTech software as opposed to the Kambi and Star Group software used by its in-house rivals. It runs a separate account and has its own promotional program.
Yet it won’t deny that it has benefitted from its association with two of New Jersey’s leading sportsbooks. Nor will it deny that its Casino, in business since 2015, has helped its launch to be efficient and relatively seamless.
Right now we can say without hesitation that it is giving its growing number of customers a really good experience.
THE BETTING INTERFACE
Its interface with its simple blue and white theme is neat, uncomplicated and makes online wagering easy to understand. It is also easier to operate, regardless of which method you employ to get your betting done.
Some like working on Resorts Casino’s website via their laptops. Others prefer using their smartphones via freely-available iOS or Android mobile apps.
THE SPORTS BETTING MENU
Resorts Casino’s sports menu is impressive, competitive and extensive. It offers wagers on well over 20 different sports and thousands of betting markets within those sports.
All the American favorites are there, including NFL and college football, NBA and NCAA basketball, Major League Baseball and NHL hockey. So too are all the big international favorites like Football (soccer), Golf, Tennis, Motor Racing, Rugby, Boxing and MMA.
At various times even lesser-known sports like Australian Rules, Bandy, Darts, and Snooker have a place on its menu.
And that’s not all. As is the case with all decent sportsbooks nowadays, the excitement of live betting is available on all high profile sports.
On the bigger events upwards of 175 different bets can be placed on each and every aspect of a game.
Wagers can be made via the standard spread, money-line or Totals bets. On the other hand, you may prefer futures bets, prop bets or even those risky but rewarding parlay bets.
Making a bet on the ResortsCasino.com sportsbook is easy. Find the sport, the event and the man, team or moment you wish to bet on. Click on it. Chose the type of bet you wish to make and again click on it.
Your wager will pop up on the betting ticket on the upper left-hand side of your Resorts interface. Enter the amount you wish to wager and your betting ticket will light up the amount you can win.
It is all so quick, so slick and, as I said, so easy.
DEPOSITS AND WITHDRAWALS
So too is registering – and safely making a deposit or withdrawing funds you might have won.
This is because while its sportsbook is still in its infancy, its online Casino has been around since 2015. Most start-up humps and bumps had already been ironed out when Resorts Casino launched its sportsbook
It is one of a dozen or so that have only come into the NJ market place since mid-2018. This was after the near three-decade state-wide ban on sports betting was lifted by the Supreme Court last June.
The Casino sportsbook offers a wide range of safe payment methods that make depositing and withdrawing funds easy.
Resorts Card
A special feature that puts the Resorts sportsbook a cut above the rest is its one-of-a-kind ResortsCard.
It works like a prepaid card, only better. You can use it to shop everywhere Discover® is accepted – both online and off.
Unlike your usual prepaid card, you can also use it to get paid when you win online. And this regardless of whether it is in Casino or in fantasy gaming or on sports wagering.
Just load your ResortsCard using your Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, or even your bank account. Then use your loaded card to deposit to your ResortsCasino.com account. When you win, you can get paid quickly by withdrawing your money back to your ResortsCard.
Some of the benefits of the card include:
- No credit limit or credit check –What you spend depends on how much money you have deposited
- Use it pretty much anywhere – The ResortsCard is available everywhere Discover® is accepted.
- Works at ATMs on the PULSE® and NYCE networks. You can withdraw money from your card at thousands of ATMs.
Otherwise, all the usual payment methods are available.
To make deposits you can use Visa, Masters Card, Maestro, and American Express credit or debit cards. You can also use Pay Pal or e-wallets like Skrill, Neteller, Ecopauz, and Boku. Face-to-face payments can be made at the Resorts Casino’s cashier cage in Atlantic City or at a convenient Pay-Near-Me 7-Eleven store.
You won’t be able to use credit cards to withdraw your winnings. However, your ResortsCard or e-wallets like Neteller and Skrill will help you here – and probably quicker than anyone else. So too will a Casino cashier.
Electronic fund transfers (EFTs) to and from your bank account are also acceptable, but they can take time.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Should you run into trouble registering, making payments and bets, etc – something gaming rookies are prone to – don’t fret. Resorts Casino’s customer service will help you.
Friendly, helpful agents are available via
- Email ([email protected])…
- A toll-free mobile number (1-844-990-4263) or…..
- A 24/7 live Chat service (if you click on HELP at the bottom of their home page).
The Resorts Casino sportsbook has no visible FAQ but makes up for it to some extent with a helpful information facility.
You’ll find it at the bottom of a block of text running down the right side of the home page. The block lists all the sports you can bet on. Look underneath it for the headline, ‘Information’.
You’ll find three sub-heads are listed under it – Live Scores, Statistics, and Betting Rules.
Live Scores and Statistics each open into different segments on a site called E-Pulse. Between them, you’ll find all the latest scores, log tables and other stats for hundreds of leagues and events worldwide.
The sheer numbers of sports, leagues, and events being contested in countless countries boggles the mind. Put together the info from the two pages and you’ll be better equipped to make more informed bets.
The Betting Rules are also helpful, especially for beginners. It helps you understand betting terms and betting procedure.
BONUSES AND PROMOTIONS
One of the first things you’ll see when you open your Resorts Casino sportsbook are the words “First Bet Matched up to $250”.
Within 48 hours of placing your first bet, your account will receive double your wager amount up to $250. In other words, if your first bet is for $100 you will be credited with $200.
This welcome bonus can only be used to make one single bet on the Resorts Casino sportsbook.
Free betting money is nice, to be sure, but it comes at a cost. You’ll need to spend an equal amount on more bets before you can draw your winnings on it.
Another phrase that quickly caught my eye on the blue-themed Resorts Casino Sportsbook’s home page (April 17, 2019) read:
RESORTS BOOST – Pacers, Bucks, Jazz all to win. Was at +1022. Now at +1150.
Boosting their odds-on selected items is one of these sportsbooks’ favorite ongoing promotions. They run them daily.
Another promo is automatically rewarding its customers with loyalty points every time they play online with real money. These RP points can be used for complimentary hotel stays discounts on entertainment and even cash back on RP points.
One of the Atlantic City Casino’s biggest online promotions is its daily ‘Spin to Win’ game. It can net lucky winners up to $3 million dollars.
It’s a Casino rather than a sportsbook promotion, sure, but there is nothing to stop you from having a stab.
With a Casino account, you can start your day with a ‘Spin to Win’. Then, regardless of whether you won or lost, you can, with the click of a button, move on to betting.
FAST PICK EXPLAINED
In 2017 when sports-betting was still illegal, Resorts AC launched FastPick. A form of daily fantasy sport (DFS), it pits players against the house in high-paying games that resemble parlay bets.
FastPick was originally launched on a separate website, FastPick.com, but Resorts Casino has subsequently merged it with its Casino platform.
It can now be played on the same interface alongside Resorts Casino com’s sportsbook and Casino. The three are just a click away and can be played up close and personal at the Casino or online from anywhere in New Jersey.
To play FastPick you must first decide on the amount of your wager. Then you’ll be tasked with selecting the winners of two-player match-ups created by Fast-Pick.
The match-ups might be between two NFL quarterbacks, two Major League baseball pitchers or two NHL goaltenders. They could also be US Open tennis finalists or Masters Golf favorites.
You will win money if your match-up picks consistently score more fantasy points in real time than their opponents. Points will be scored through things like touchdown passes, home runs, strikeouts, and goals.
If your chosen players all score more points than their match-up rivals, you will be suitably rewarded. I say suitably rewarded because, like Parlay, your winnings will depend on the number of match-ups you bet on.
If you chose the minimum of three and your stake is $5 you will win $25. On the other hand, 10 winners with a stake of $200 will net you $100 000.
In other words, you can get a lot of fun on FastPick without any heavy spending. On the other hand, you can gamble hard and win big. It’s up to you.
SUMMING-UP
ResortsCasino.com sportsbook is one of the youngest in the USA’s newest sportsbook Mecca of New Jersey.
It’s only been going since January, but it hit the ground running and is already ticking the important boxes. It has come into the market quietly and without any fanfare, but it has done so with a product of genuine quality.
Its earliest users, mostly established Casino customers, are coming back for more – and bringing with them new recruits.
One of the strengths of ResortsCasino.com is that it gives its New Jersey patrons one of the widest ranges of gaming in the business.
Sure there are other sportsbook operators who offer Casino games like slots, roulette, and poker alongside sports betting. Caesars is one. William Hills is another.
Others like NJ sportsbook market leader FanDuel and close second DraftKings, enable you to alternate sports betting with daily sports fantasy.
Few, if any, however, enable you to play roulette, DFS and bet on football on the same mobile app.
It makes Resorts Casino.com stand out in the crowd – and gives you every reason to give it a try.
