NJ Sportsbook Website Review
For clarification purposes it should be mentioned at the outset that this is essentially a sportsbook review.
Beside sports-betting, online casino games and poker are both accessible on the BetMGM’s new website and mobile apps. However, we won’t be going into too much detail about them.
That said, let’s get back to the New Jersey version of the BetMGM’s online sportsbook. Let’s also make it clear that BetMGM is not something brand spanking new in the betting industry.
BetMGM has only been around under that name and handsome new face for little over a month. But in reality it’s a re-branded, re-energized and smartly up-graded version of the old PlayMGM sportsbook.
Roar Digital LLC, set up by MGM Resorts International and GVC holdings, has used the GVC gaming platform to rebuild the product. And Roar’s CMO Matt Prevost was highly enthusiastic about it at its re-launch.
“Today’s an exciting day as we launch the rebranded and upgraded BetMGM app in New Jersey,” he said.
“We’re thrilled to be able to give our customers bigger and bolder opportunities to enjoy our games and some unique experiences. We hope our product will take the in-game entertainment value to the next level.”
Bigger and bolder BetMGM certainly is – in almost every way. It’s smart, professional and international, both on its website and online on its two mobile apps
Its sports menu and betting markets is now a match for the industry’s front-runners and its payment options are plentiful.
It’s offering some competitive bonuses and when you need a change from sportsbetting you have online casino and poker gaming at your finger tips.
But let’s look at all we’ve talked about so far in more detail
BETTING INTERFACE
My initial impression of the rebranded BetMGM interface was one of mixed emotions. My first thought was that its black, white and brown home page was too bland with two few bells and whistles to give it an instant appeal.
But when I looked again and looked closer I saw things very differently, I saw an extremely neat and professional work face whose precise and informative layout made me want to jump in and begin navigating it immediately.
I also discovered that the site does in fact have some interesting graphics when I clicked on the promotions button. But then, of course, colour and imagination are all part of promoting a product. Odds and clear-cut text information, on the other hand, is what count most when playing the betting game.
Getting back to sportsbetting; virtually everything you need to start wagering comes in a band of icons that runs right across the top of the home page.
Other info about in-house rules, banking, general rules and conditions and a detailed FAQ can all be found at the bottom of the home page.
Above the line of page-top icons you’ll find three more buttons marked Sport, Casino and Poker. Yes, access to hundreds of bets, a multitude of Casino Games and hosts of Poker events are all there just a button apart.
The Casino and poker pages that come up when you do start pressing buttons are dramatically different from the sportsbook. They are full of bright colours and imaginative graphics – but that’s for another time. It’s the sportsbook we are reviewing now.
All the major sports you are going to want to bet on are there in the long line icons. They are also displayed in a column running down the left side of the page. You can get to the less popular sports either by pushing one of those icon button marked A to Z sports or by clicking on the same notice at the bottom of the sports listing in the left column of the home page
Other buttons you’ll find in the imposing line up of top-of-the-page icons are Live, Search, Promotions, Odds-Boost, My Bets and Favorites.
Immediately below the icon line-up is a moving banner graphically advertising all the sites features and promotions and below that you can dive right into the betting business – either with live, in-play wagering or most usually with money-line, spread or total bets on NFL football.
The upper right-hand corner of the home page is taken up by a Media block whose buttons will take you to live scoreboards and live video streams. Conveniently the betting slip is immediately below it so you can track the progress of your bets on those live scoreboards and video streams.
BETTING BOOK
BetMGM’s new betting book carries as many sports as you’ll get in most sports books in New Jersey. Its sports menu is not the biggest, but it is by no means the state’s smallest either.
NFL football, NBA basketball, MLB baseball, NHL hockey and top-flight soccer from every corner of the globe are all there including the US’s MLS, the UK’s Premier League, Spain’s La Liga, Germany’s Bundesliga and Italy’s Series A
So too are other international sports that are American favorites like tennis, golf, boxing MMA and Auto-racing.
It currently carries no betting options for swimming, track and field, skiing, handball, netball or volleyball, but Australian Rules, Cricket. Formula 1 racing and Rugby are all there including the recent Rugby World Cup featuring strongly during this review.
BETTING OPTIONS:
BetMGM is no Scrooge when it comes to betting markets and betting options. They are all there from the standard money line, spread and total bets through futures, prop and Round Robins to the risky but highly rewarding Parlay bets which, records show, bring in more handle in New Jersey than any other type of bet. In addition BetMGM is right up to date with its Live, In-Play Betting.
Live, in-play betting
The increasingly popular type of all-action betting is clearly taken very seriously by BetMGM. At the time of the review it was offering a wide range of up-to-the-minute options with a timetable listing a whole lot more in the days ahead.
Cash Out Betting
Like all the best sports books these days, BetMGM also offers Cash Out wagering. This gives you the option of an early Cash Out on some straight and parlay bets which can help:

Edit Your Bet
