Heading into Week 14 there are still a few teams on the bye, so we have fewer games to analyze and pick from. Let’s take a look at the four players most likely to score an anytime touchdown this weekend.
Ja’Marr Chase +100
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase returned to the lineup last Sunday. He jumped right back in like he never left, grabbing seven catches on eight targets and tallying 97 yards. Chase didn’t score last week against the Chiefs, but he was a consistent threat in the red zone for Joe Burrow.
Chase faces a Cleveland Browns team this week that has struggled against big-play wide receivers. They rank 18th in passing touchdown defense and allow 1.4 passing touchdowns per game. Cleveland gave up 12-110-1 to Chris Godwin two weeks ago and should be in the same trouble this Sunday.
Chase missed the first game this season, a 32-13 Cleveland win. He scored twice in two straight games before his injury and has six touchdowns on the season. Look for Case to get back into the end zone at home on Sunday against Cleveland.
Tony Pollard -110
You don’t often see NFL teams favored by 17.5, but you also don’t often see NFL teams as bad as the Houston Texans. Dallas has scored 49, 28, 40, 28, and 54 points in their last five games, and running back Tony Pollard has been a big part of that, especially when Zeke Elliott was out.
The duo combined for 152 yards and a touchdown against the Giants on Thanksgiving and 168 yards with three touchdowns last week against the Colts. Pollard had more yards on less carries than Elliott against the Colts and scored twice while Elliott scored once.
The Texans’ rush defense is horrendous, and Dallas can and will run all over them. Pollard not only has the chance to break a long run to find the end zone, but with Dallas up big, they will run the ball in the second half with him as well.
Tyler Lockett +115
With multiple injuries in the Seattle Seahawks backfield, picking one of the Seattle wideouts to score is the smart play. Kenneth Walker and Deejay Davis are both questionable at best and have missed practice time all week. DK Metcalf was also limited in practice, making Tyler Lockett the way to go this week.
Lockett has scored in five straight games and had 12 targets last week against the Rams. Geno Smith trusts him, especially inside the red zone and on third down plays, giving Lockett chances the other pass catchers don’t get.
AJ Brown -110
AJ Brown has scored in two straight games for the Philadelphia Eagles and now faces a New York Giants team with a hurting secondary. Brown scored twice against the Titans last week with ten targets, eight catches, and 119 yards. He scored against the Packers the previous week and has seven touchdowns in the last six games.
These teams haven’t met yet this year, but the Eagles scored 34 of the Giants last December. The Giants have allowed 48 total points the last two weeks with three passing touchdowns and an average of more than 250 passing yards allowed. Look for Jalen Hurts to target Brown often on Sunday and lead the Eagles to a 12th win.
