>The Washington Football Team have a forecast 63% chance to win against The Seattle Seahawks with a spread of -1.5/1.5 and an over/under of 43.5. The Washington Football Team are 0 – 0 against The Seattle Seahawks in the 2021-22 Season.
— Monday, November 29th Seattle Seahawks @ Washington Football Team
Week 12 of the NFL season ends with two teams in limbo as they head down the stretch as the 4-6 Washington Football Teams host the 3-7 Seattle Seahawks. Washington is only one win behind in the NFC playoff race, while the Seahawks have lost five of six games. Kickoff from FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, is set for 8:15 p.m. ET Monday and will be televised by ESPN.
These teams met last December as Seattle went across the country and won 20-15 just before Christmas. Overall, Washington leads the series 12-9, and the teams have split four regular-season games in the Pete Carroll/Russell Wilson era. The road team has won the last six in the series, and the last WFT win at home came in 2005.
End of an Era?
The Seahawks are in unprecedented territory under Carroll with their worst 10-game stretch since he took over in 2010. Seattle is averaging just 13.5 points in their last four games, including the first time they were shut out in the Caroll/Wilson era. They are 5-5 against the spread, and the under is 9-1 in their ten games.
Wilson has gone two straight games without a touchdown pass for just the third time in his career. Since returning from a finger injury that cost him three games, Wilson has completed just 51 percent of his passes, averaging just 5.5 yards per attempt. On the season, he has ten touchdowns to three interceptions in seven games while throwing for 1,564 yards.
The run game has also been a letdown for Seattle this year, thanks in large part to injuries to Chris Carson, who is now out for the season. Alex Collins is the leading rusher on the season with 381 yards, but he hasn’t topped 50 yards since rushing for 101 against Pittsburgh in Week 7.
Tyler Lockett is Wilson’s top target, and he had 115 yards last week against Arizona on four catches. Lockett has 47 catches for 747 yards and three touchdowns, but he hasn’t scored since Week 2. DK Metcalf has 46 catches for 637 yards and eight touchdowns but has topped 100 yards in a game just once this season.
Washington Streaking Forward
Washington is 3-7 ATS this season, and the over/under is 5-5 in their ten games. They are just 2-3 at home, but they beat Tampa Bay 39-19 in their only home game since October 17. Washington has won two games in a row, and they can get into a tie for the last playoff spot with a win this week.
Taylor Heinicke has thrown for at least 250 yards in three of the last four games, and he has four touchdowns to no interceptions in the last two weeks. On the season, he has completed 66 percent of his passes for 2,390 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also has the second-most rushing yards on the team with 276 to go along with two rushing touchdowns.
Antonio Gibson is the big threat out of the backfield with 601 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He has another touchdown as a receiver with 19 catches for 158 yards. He hasn’t gone over 100 yards rushing in a game this season but did have a season-best 95 last week.
Terry McLaurin is having another big season with 54 catches for 735 yards and five touchdowns. He caught seven balls for 103 yards and a touchdown last week, his second 100-yard game in the last four contests. DeAndre Carter has three touchdown receptions, while running back J.D. McKissic has the second-most receptions on the team with 38.
Betting Analysis
- Seattle Seahawks -1 (-115). Money Line -115
- Washington Football Team +1 (-105). Money Line -105
- Total Points 46.5 (Over -115. Under -105)
Both teams are desperate for a win, and Washington has been playing better on both sides of the ball the last couple of weeks than the Seahawks. Seattle has allowed 33 sacks this year, but it may be tough for Washington to apply pressure without Chase Young (ACL – out for season). Without big plays in the pass game, it is hard to see Seattle winning this game with just their underwhelming rushing attack.
Betting Pick: Washington +1 (-105)
