Super Bowl LVII is finally upon us. What is great about the big game is that there are plenty of opportunities besides betting on who will win or lose or how many points will be scored. The match between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs should provide a solid end to this season.
Here’s a look at five Super Bowl props worth betting on.
Jalen Hurts to win MVP
The Eagles’ renaissance this season has been in large part due to the excellence of Hurts with running the offense. The Philadelphia quarterback has been an excellent dual-threat quarterback in an explosive offense. Hurts has rushed for 13 touchdowns and passed for another 22 this season.
While Hurts was banged up toward the end of the season, he was still able to guide the offense in the postseason. With Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes having a dinged-up ankle, this is a good spot to bet Philadelphia’s quarterback can guide the Eagles to a win and get the MVP award typically titled toward signal callers.
Mahomes under 19.5 rushing yards
Kansas City’s quarterback is typically a wizard with his feet. He is able to move around the pocket effectively and find opportunities to scramble or to find better windows to throw passes out of. Since hurting his ankle against Jacksonville in the divisional round, Mahomes hasn’t been on the move much.
In the AFC Championship game, Mahomes only ran three times for eight yards. One of Mahomes’ most important runs was a late-game scramble for a first round. Philadelphia has a solid pass rush that should be able to keep Mahomes contained. If his mobility is limited, Mahomes will have a hard time running.
Miles Sanders under 13.5 carries
Sanders finished fifth in the league in rushing during the regular season and had the eighth-most carries in the NFL, but it never felt that way. Philadelphia’s offense is diverse enough that it doesn’t have to lean so hard on Sander. In the NFC Championship game, Sanders only carried the ball 11 times but scored two touchdowns.
Sanders will play an important role, but won’t get an absurd amount of carries.
Total number of coaches’ challenges under 1.5
The expedited replay process in the NFL this season took away the need for coaches to challenge easily fixable mistakes. With the NFL command center now in charge, teams can count on the booth to correct things like fumble calls or touchdowns on their own. This game won’t be bogged down with challenges.
Total yards over 760.5
Both the Chiefs and Eagles have explosive offenses that are capable of creating big plays out of nowhere. Philadelphia, especially, likes to rely on its deep passing game to stretch the defense and open up other aspects of its game. This is a Super Bowl that has the potential for a lot of offense.
