With the draft approaching, many NFL teams already went big game hunting and were able to grab the top free agents out of the pool of available players. What is remaining from the list of players still available is a mix of veteran players and other people trying to get another shot at the big time. Here’s a look at the four best pending free agents.
Teddy Bridgewater, Quarterback
Bridgewater’s career has been filled with close calls and disappointments. In his second season with the Minnesota Vikings, Bridgewater led the Vikings to an 11-5 record and earned a spot in the Pro Bowl. Since then, Bridgewater has had his career hampered by injuries and mediocre performance.
Bridgewater has a 33-30 career record and has proven to be a capable game manager. He appeared in five games in 2022 with Miami. Bridgewater passed for 683 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions. He could be a steady veteran backup for man team.s
Isaiah Wynn, Offensive Tackle
Wynn, a 6-foot-2 offensive tackle, has had durability issues over the course of his career. He only played in nine games last season for the Patriots. During the course of his career, Wynn has only played through a complete season once.
Wynn is still in his late 20s and has some things he can add to franchises looking for depth on the offensive line. Teams across the league are desperate to find solid offensive linemen. With Wynn playing a valuable tackle position, he should find a new spot.
Dalton Risner, Guard
Risner, who has played all four of his seasons in Denver, is a strong run blocker. During his four seasons in the NFL, Risner has been a reliable player. He has played in 15 or more games during every season he has been with the Broncos.
Risner was part of a disastrous offense last season with Denver. The first year with Russell Wilson under center went rough for the Broncos. While Sean Payton coming in may make a difference for Denver, Risner may be better off finding a new landing spot.
Odell Beckham Jr, Wide Receiver
Beckham may never be the explosive player he once was. The long-time wide receiver, who most recently helped the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl, spent a year away from the sport after tearing his ACL. Beckham last finished with 537 yards on 44 catches for five touchdowns during a season split for Cleveland and Los Angeles in 2021.
One thing to always consider is that Beckham will need a good fit culture-wise. Beckham’s attitude in the past has led to some issues on and off the field with teammates. There’s no denying Beckham is a strong player. He has over 7,000 receiving yards in his career and proved with the Rams that he can deliver in the postseason.
