Betting on college basketball gets tricky once conference play starts. One team can have a decided edge on paper, but once they hit the road, things can go haywire. Figuring out the best matchups for certain teams can be difficult. However, that’s what makes betting on the sport so interesting.

Here’s a look at some games worth betting Tuesday night.

Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Indiana Hoosiers (-188)

When it comes to teams sitting at the top of the Big Ten standings, there is really Purdue and everyone else. Perhaps a bit surprisingly, Rutgers is in sole possession of the second place, sitting a game ahead of a six-way logjam for third place, which includes its opponent for Tuesday night, Indiana.

The Hoosiers have won six of their past seven games and are 5-2 against the spread during that stretch. Indiana has won due to being a solid all-around team. The Hoosiers are efficient from the field, shooting 49.9 percent, which ranks fifth nationally. Indiana also makes 38.1 percent of its 3-points, which is 24th nationally. Rutgers isn’t going to be your team if you want to watch offensive basketball.

The Scarlet Knights are one of the best defensive teams in the country. Rutgers is fifth nationally in points allowed, limiting opponents to 58.4 points per game. This is a tough spot for the Scarlet Knights as Indiana is riding high after knocking off No. 1 Purdue. People in Assembly Hall will be out for blood, and the Hoosiers will grab a win.

Ole Miss Rebels at Georgia Bulldogs (-1.5)

First-year Georgia coach Mike White has the Rebels off to a 14-9 start, including a 4-5 record in SEC play. He only needs to guide the Bulldogs to win more games in a season than Tom Crean did in any of the four seasons before this year. The Bulldogs play a deliberate pace, ranking 232nd in the country in points per game, scoring 69.7 per contest.

Georgia is 10-13 against the spread this season, including a 4-6 mark over its past ten games. Ole Miss has had a difficult season but has especially struggled as of late. The Rebels have lost five straight games straight up. Ole Miss is 2-8 against the spread over the past ten games. Georgia will over the narrow spread at home.

Auburn Tigers at Texas A&M Aggies (-3)

The Aggies have likely worked themselves into a spot in the NCAA Tournament thanks to their outstanding play in SEC games. The Aggies are 8-2 in the conference, including a 79-63 win over Auburn on the road on January 25. Texas A&M is a program that leans heavily on its defense.

The Aggies allow opponents to score 66.2 points per game. Texas A&M also limits opponents to 39.8 percent shooting from the field, which is 25th-best nationally. The Aggies are 14-9 against the spread this season. Auburn needs to grab a win.

The Tigers are just behind Texas A&M in the standings and have lost three of their past four games. Auburn has been good against the spread recently, covering the number in seven of the past ten games.
