The NCAA basketball season is winding down in its typical frantic fashion. Some conferences are entering the early part of their conference tournaments, while some are still playing out the last of their regular season games. What this means is that there is plenty of action for bettors to get money down on before the end of the regular season hits.
Florida Gators (-2) at Georgia Bulldogs
The Gators have had a brutal time down the stretch. Florida will now face off against the Bulldogs, who are led by former Garos coach Mike White. Florida has lost six of its past seven games.
The Gators, who are 14-15 overall, are only 13-16 against the spread this season. Florida averages 71.7 points per game this season and shoots 43.7 percent from the field. Gators forward Colin Castleton leads Florida by averaging 16 points per game.
Georgia has struggled on defense this season, giving up 71.7 points per game. The Bulldogs have failed to cover against the spread in three straight games. In two of those games, Georgia was embarrassed as a double-digit underdog, losing by 49 to Alabama and 22 to Arkansas.
Michigan State Spartans (-3) at Nebraska Cornhuskers
The Spartans lost a heartbreaking game last Saturday in Iowa City. Blowing a double-digit lead against Iowa means the Spartans could use another Big Ten conference win to help separate it from the pack. While the Spartans won’t gain much from beating Nebraska optically, picking up a road win in Nebraska hasn’t been easy this season.
The Spartans are 14-14 against the spread this season. Michigan State has limited its opponents to 67 points per game this season. The Spartans are led by guard Tyson Walker, who scores a team-high 14.6 points per game. Nebraska has won four straight games, including two in overtime.
The Cornhuskers are 12-17 this season against the spread. Nebraska has also seen its offensive production steadily increase. The Cornhuskers have seen five of their games go over the total this year. Nebraska is led by Derrick Walker, who scores 13.9 points and grabs 7.2 rebounds per game.
Texas A&M Aggies (-5) at Ole Miss Rebels
The Aggies had their six-game winning streak stopped on the road at Mississippi State. Texas A&M, which is 19-10 against the spread this season, still has an outside chance of winning the SEC if Alabama stumbles. The Aggies also will want to avoid a second straight road loss with the Rebels.
Texas A&M has leaned on its defense all season, only giving up 65.9 points per game. Wade Taylor IV leads the Aggies in scoring at 16.1 points per game. Ole Miss had stopped a four-game losing streak in its last game by beating LSU. The Rebels are 3-13 in SEC play and have already fired their coach. Ole Miss isn’t going to get up against a motivated Texas A&M team.
