We are close to the final stage of the 2021-2022 PGA Tour season, and we’re excited for the 2022 Tour Championship as $18 million remains up for grabs. With so much on the line and everyone involved ready to push boundaries, we expect an exciting run to the end of the season.
It doesn’t matter where they end on the table; every player has something to play for until the end of the rounds. So, there is a lot of money on the line from the bottom-up. It would be an exciting run, and as a bettor, you can decide to go with an outright bet on who would have the lowest 72-hole score.
We’ve put together the top five favorites for the 2022 Tour Championship you can bet on in the list below. Before you bet, you should check them out.
Rory McIlroy – +750
If you’ve been following the Tour, you’ll know that no golfer comes close to Rory McIlroy. In his past seven visits to East Lake, McIlroy, without starting strokes, has only finished outside the top seven twice. He currently has two FedEx Cup championships under his belt and is in the category of the legendary Tiger Woods with multiple FedEx Cups.
McIlroy was impressive at the BMW Championship in Wilmington. Although he had one of his worst performances in the category, McIlory’s year has been solid.
He has had an impressive year on the greens. As a result, we don’t expect him to struggle, and the 33-year-old remains the betting favorite on our list.
Jon Rahm – +800
The second golfer on our list is Jon Rahm, who had an impressive week leading up to the Championship. Rahm started his first 27 holes on five-over par, taking him near last.
But, he eventually got his rhythm and carried it over into an impressive weekend. He finished his last 45 holes at 14 under par, a personal best in the field.
With this top-notch run, it is no surprise that Jon Rahm is one of the top five favorites for the 2022 Tour Championship. There is a need for perfection at East Lake, and we think Rahm is up to the task, putting him as one of the possible winners you can consider when you want to place your bet.
Patrick Cantlay – +1000
The next pick is Patrick Cantlay, a golfer with some exciting runs this year. He had an impressive time at the BMW Championship, even with top golfers like Scottie Scheffler, Scott Stallings, and Xander Schauffele. Cantlay did fantastic at the Championship, making him one of the favorites.
The leaderboard at the BMW Championship was volatile, and we had top guns taking charge of the standings. However, once it entered crunch time, Cantlay ensured that he was the final man using his clutch shotmaking prowess. And as a result, he successfully became the first player to defend a title in the FedEx Cup playoff’s history.
Scottie Scheffler – +1200
It is not surprising to see Scottie Scheffler in the top five. He was ranked number one after the BMW Championship, earning a two-stroke lead.
Scheffler is an impressive golfer with so much experience, and we believe he will have something to say before the end of the Championship.
He remains one of the favorites to win, and his impressive showing at the BMW Championship is something that can’t be overlooked or underestimated.
Xander Schauffele – +1200
In his five appearances at the East lake Golf Club, Xander Schauffele has never finished outside the top seven. The golfer won the tournament in 2017 and remained a top pick to follow when you want to place a bet on this competition.
He has been the Tour’s top performer since April, getting three wins plus eight top 15 finishes in nine of his last ten tournaments. It includes the top three finish at the BMW Championship.
