Adam Thielen, the Minnesota Viking’s star wide receiver, is “hopeful’ but not certain of playing in Saturday’s Divisional Play-offs
The Vikings are set to play away against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi Park in the weekend’s first play-off.
After a ‘limited’ practice on Wednesday, he was listed as ‘questionable’ in the Vikings injury report on Thursday.
Thielen, 29, starred with 129 receiving yards in their 26-20 Wild Card win over New Orleans last week. Unfortunately he came away from the Game with an ankle injury.
Don’t count him out just yet. The man himself is still hopeful of being fit to play. He made this clear on the team’s website
“For me, it’s just like anything. You do what you have to do every day to be there on Saturday, trying to help your team win,” it quoted him as saying.
Mackensie Alexander (out) and Jayron Kearse (doubtful) were the other Vikings players listed on the club’s injury list Thursday. However, there was also some good news for Minnesota fans.
Stefon Diggs is fit again
Stefon Diggs, another of their top-notch wide receivers, practised on Thursday after battling the flu earlier in the week. He looks ready to go – and just as well.
As the New Jersey sports betting industry +260 money line underdogs, they will have to fight well above their weight.
It’s not for nothing that New Jerseys sportsbooks all favour San Francisco 49rs at around -310. The resurgence of the Northern Californians this season has been quite remarkable.
Their power ranking in December 2018 was 23. Right now, just 14 months later, the 49ers (+215) are second only to the Baltimore Ravens (-200) as Super Bowl LIV favourites.
They are followed by the Kansas City Chiefs at (+350) and the Green Bay Packers (+900).
The Vikings, at around +1550, are clearly not being given any chance of winning the NFL championship.
