Rob Gronkowski has advised former New England Patriots team-mate Tom Brady to “test the waters’ before he does anything”

Known as ‘The Gronk’, the 30-year-old tight-end retired in March and is now a FOX Sport analyst. During his playing days he was widely regarded as the greatest tight end ever to have played the game.

Brady for the first time is due to be a free agent at the end of this NFL season. And despite him turning 43 in August, the iconic, six-time Super Bowl champion has suggested he wants to carry on playing.

Having played for the Patriots for his entire 20 seasons in the NFL, there is a distinct possibility that he’ll be wearing a different jersey next season.

This is especially so as he would most likely earn more money by signing for a new franchise. Teams like the Indianapolis Colts or Los Angeles Chargers would love to have him.

“Tom must do what’s best for him”

“I truly believe that he deserves the opportunity to go explore, to see what’s out there,” Gronkowski told reporters ahead of Super Bowl LIV

“The way that he’s been playing, he deserves an opportunity to go out there and test the market.

“Why shouldn’t he? He’s never done it before in his career and he is going to be a free agent for the first time ever. Good for him. He should go test out the market and do what’s best for himself.

“The decision he has to make is what’s best for himself, what’s best for his family, what he feels like he’s going to love. It’s all up to Tom, he’s a grown man and he can make that decision on his own.”

Gronkowski spent his entire nine years in the NFL with the Patriots and won three Super Bowl rings.

He was one of Brady’s most reliable weapons and he was clearly missed this season when the Patriots were blown out of the Super Bowl race in Wild Card Weekend. Underdog Tennessee Titans were the team that did it.
