NFL NEWS AND NOTES FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 23, 2022

The NFL has some interesting updates to their latest schedule this year and news stories. The NFL Draft is also coming up soon, with teams finalizing their expectations.

In other news, there are various player contracts that are in the process of being an issue. Check out the latest news and notes.

A.J. Brown and Debo Samuel Having Contract Issues

Deebo Samuel and A.J. Brown was heard having a conversation about their contract situation. Both players were drafted in 2019 and have one year left on their rookie contract.

Samuel is already having issues with the San Francisco 49ers and wanting to be traded. While on the phone with Brown, it was heard that Brown was only offered $20 million, and the Titans do not want to give him more.

Brown has publicly posted on Twitter about his concerns with the team not wanting to give him any more. The contract, at the moment, is at a standstill.

Samuel has reported that he is not attending summer training camps with the 49ers. This is a bit drastic to some, but he, too, wants a big payday.

In addition, both players are being represented by the same agent, Tory Dandy. Dandy has got other players big money before, so the thought is he could do it again for these two players.

Christmas Shows Packed Day of Games

The latest NFL schedule has been revealed with some changes compared to last year. For the first time ever, there will be three Christmas Day games.

According to last year’s views, the NFL experienced 28.6 million views on Fox as the Green Bay Packers defeated the Cleveland Browns. Over the last three seasons, there have been games on Christmas Day.

The NFL’s latest addition to the schedule is going to help them compete with the NBA for a day of TV ratings. The NBA has played on Christmas Day since 1947, so they have a lead on the market.

The entire schedule will be released on May 12, with additional updates to games for the season. This includes when the first Thursday Night Football game will occur on Amazon Prime and the international games.

NFL Mock Draft in Effect

The NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 28, and end on Saturday, April 30. So far, the Mock Draft has been going on with where the projected picks are going to end up.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have the first pick for this year’s draft. It is expected that they will take Aidan Hutchinson out of Michigan, attempting to see if anyone else might pay some big money to trade up for the pick.

The Detroit Lions have the second pick in the draft, with expectations to select Kayvon Thibodeaux out of Oregon. This is arguably the best pick in the draft and will be a great player for years to come.

The Houston Texans could potentially take Evan Neal out of Alabama. The team needs a lot of prospects, so this could go either way here.
