Yesterday was a big night of baseball with nine games to pass the time. All of the games came down to the wire and had suspenseful endings, with four of the games ending in a single score differential.

KC Royals vs CHI White Sox

The Royals defeat the White Sox 6-4. Jose Abreu of the White Sox went three for three on at bats, with two runs to boot. The Sox had ten hits to the Royals’ six, but they had three more players left on base.

PHI Phillies vs CIN Reds

The Phillies beat the Reds in a much more convincing fashion, dominating 4-1. Noah Syndergaard had a great game, pitching seven innings and only letting up one earned run. The Phillies pitching rotation was not up to snuff, making it a dominant win for Philadelphia.

ATL Braves vs PIT Pirates

In another good pitching performance, the Braves sneak a win from the Pirates 2-1. The Braves pitcher Jake Odorizzi let up only one run in his six innings pitched, along with pinch-hitter Michael Harris getting a two-run HR in his only at bat.

NY Yankees vs NY Mets

Coming back from a slow stretch, the Yankees defeated the Mets 4-2. Despite his resume, Max Scherzer couldn’t keep up, letting up all four of the team’s runs during his 6.2 innings pitched. Three Yankees players racked up at least two hits on the day.

TEX Rangers vs MIN Twins

In another close, low-scoring game, the Rangers nudge past the Twins with a score of 2-1. Other than Corey Seager’s two hits and RBI, the game was defensive-centric. Carlos Correa managed to hit a triple on a centerfield error, but the Twins still couldn’t manage to score.

LA Angels vs TB Rays

The Angels still prove disappointing, losing to the Rays 2-1. Randy Arozarena has been on fire this season, particularly during this game, with two hits and a home run. Mike Trout hit the only Angels RBI, while only four players on the team managed a hit.

STL Cardinals vs CHI Cubs

In the lowest scoring game of the night, the Cardinals defeat the Cubs 1-0. Jordan Montgomery of the Cardinals pitched a shutout and only allowed a single hit in nine innings pitched. The Cubs weren’t so lucky, as Albert Pujols managed to hit a single home run for the Cardinals’ only score of the day.

MIA Marlins vs OAK Athletics

The Miami Marlins take over against the struggling Athletics, winning 3-0. Edward Cabrera had a chance at a shutout as well but got taken out after the 8th inning with two hits allowed.

Brian Anderson had a hit and two walks, and Jon Berti had almost the same stat line. The Athletics had only three hits on the day, but Tony Kemp got on base twice on the day.

MIL Brewers vs LA Dodgers

In a shocking upset, the Milwaukee Brewers blew out the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0. The Brewers are almost 20 games behind the Dodgers, but kept them from scoring.

Luis Urias had a two-run home run during one of his two at bats, and Christian Yelich brought another run home on a hit. Phil Bickford pitched one inning for the Dodgers and let up three of the runs earned.
