High-flying Liverpool are the favorites to beat Tottenham Hotspurs in Europe’s premier football championship, the UEFA Cup, on June 1.
Most New Jersey Sportsbooks currently have them at around -182 as against +150 for Tottenham.
It is Manchester City, not Liverpool, however, who are favored to win the 2019/20 English Premier League. And this at the sharpest futures odds in Premiership history.
Those odds were as low as -150 on Tuesday – clearly influenced by the rousing events of last week. Liverpool was priced at +300.
City whipped Brighton 4-1 in the final round of the League on Sunday with devastating consequences for Liverpool supporters.
The Reds also won at the weekend. They beat Wolverhampton, but their hopes of a long-awaited Premier League title all went up in smoke.

With 98 points from 34 wins in 38 games, City captured its second Premiership in a row by just one point.

New Jersey’s 14 sportsbooks have not given up on the popular Reds. At around +300 (3/1) to win the League, they are the only club in range of Manchester City. Next closest is Manchester United at +1000 (10/1)
Pep Guardiola’s City stars have also made it into this weekend’s FA Cup final against Watford. Here too they are outright favorites.
888sport, for example, is offering odds of a whopping -770 (1/8) on City winning. This means, of course, that for every eight dollars you bet, you can only win one.
Influencing these odds, for sure, is City winning culture. They have won the Cup five times, their most recent triumph coming in 2011.
City best in modern-day Premier league history
Getting back to the Premier League; a sportsbook spokesman had this to say about Man City.
“This City side is comfortably the best we’ve seen in the Premier League era. Betting suggests they’re about to embark on a reign at the top that doesn’t look like ending any time soon.
“In terms of competition, the challenge looks thin on the ground beyond Liverpool who are strong favorites for another silver medal.”
Multi-titled Manchester United’s fortunes are not looking good. Their odds for the Premiership were standing at +1200 after their weekend loss to relegation-headed Cardiff.
Tottenham is in 4th place at +1400.
