It takes two to tango, Gaming Innovation Group Inc. (GiG) has signed a sportsbook contract with Hard Rock International (Hard Rock) for the provision of its omnichannel Sportsbook solution in the newly opened New Jersey market.
The contract for this sports betting operation with Hard Rock AC has no specific launch date. However, it is thought to take off sometime in early 2019. This arrangement follows a letter of intent signed between GiG and Hard Rock on 12 October 2018.
This Hard Rock sportsbook contract includes a full omnichannel solution with over the counter (OTC) wagering and self-service betting terminals (SSBT) available in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City as well as online via desktop and mobile.
There is potential to expand the partnership further in the future in other US states. The pair announced in October they had signed a letter of intent to launch retail and online/mobile sportsbooks out of the new Hard Rock Atlantic City. At that time, a late 2018 launch was planned.
GiG is also Hard Rock’s NJ online gambling software partner. The pair launched an online casino site on July 03 2018.
Seemingly, the sports betting agreement now includes self-service betting terminals in the casino as well. In fact, GiG is promising to provide a full “omnichannel” sports betting solution.
The NJ Sports Betting Market
Kresimir Spajic is Hard Rock International’s senior vice president of online gaming.
Spajic said the launch of its NJ sports betting operation will help Hard Rock AC reach its ultimate goals. Those goals include leading the NJ sports betting and online gambling markets.
“The forthcoming launch of the Hard Rock Sportsbook in New Jersey will mark yet another step toward becoming a significant player in the national and international sports betting and online gaming industry.
In recent months, GiG has established its self to be an innovative, capable, flexible and trustworthy partner. Such qualities together with vanguard sportsbook technology and services enabled GiG to win our New Jersey Sportsbook RFP.”
But Hard Rock isn’t stopping there, Spajic added. More plans are afoot for the newcomer to the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
