On Monday, three days before the start, England was the favorites to win the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
One New Jersey sportsbook, 888sport, had them top of their list at +200, another, William Hill at +180
Ten teams will fight it out in this 50-over championship starting Thursday with England playing South Africa. This potentially stirring opener will be held at the Oval in South London. The climaxing final takes place six weeks later at Lords in St John’s Wood, London on July 14.
By then all 10 teams will have played each other in a series of round-robin matches. The top four will then have gone on to the semi-finals and final.
888sport and William Hill generally reflected the feelings of most New Jersey sportsbooks on Monday. Both saw England, India, Australia, and South Africa or New Zealand as being the most likely semi-final qualifiers.
