It wasn’t by much, but Tom Brady’s New England Patriots remained the Super Bowl LIII favorites of the New Jersey sports bookmakers today (Tuesday).
Most of them were showing money line odds or thereabouts of -132 for the Patriots and +116 for the Rams
However, EA Sports, the famed Canadian designers, and developers of sports video games saw things differently.
Super Bowl punters might like to know that in their simulation of Sunday’s NFL championship match between the Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams played on their Madden NFL 19 video gamer the Rams came out as the 30-27 winners.
The Patriots haven’t allowed Brady, their all-star quarterback, to be sacked for at least their last two games, so it is interesting to note that EA Sports awarded the Super Bowl MVP to Rams tackle Aaron Donald for his four-sack performance.
In the video game Brady leads the Patriots to a 17-3 halftime lead, but the Rams rally in the second half and win the match with a Todd Gurley 5-yard touchdown run.
EA Sports’ simulation NFL game hasn’t always been right about the Super Bowl winners.
Last year they had the Patriots defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 24-20. In actual fact, the Eagles stunned the football world by beating the Patriots 41-33.
On the other hand EA Sports’ Madden NFL 19 has managed to correctly predict 11 of the winners of the last 15 Super Bowl championship matches.
