DraftKings, Pepsi Launch New Online Football ContestIllegal Sportsbooks Shut Down In NJ

DraftKings and Pepsi have together launched a new online football contest designed to “further stoke the fans’ competitive flames”.

It’s called the Pepsi Live Prediction Challenge, and you can register and start playing right now by clicking here. ( https://sportsbook.draftkings.com/lp/pepsi-challenge).

Each week registered players are asked to answer eight multiple-choice questions about the NFL’s Sunday games.

Those scoring the highest number of points for correct answers will win or share $5,000 in cash prizes. And it’s on offer for each week of the regular season.

Additionally, there will be a “Pepsi Zero Sugar” question. It will always be the first question of the week, and the right answer will earn double points.

A leader-board will keep track of the best performers. At the end of the regular season, the fan topping the leaderboard wins a trip to Super Bowl LIV.  They set the championship final to take place on February 2, 2020, in Miami Gardens, Florida.

“Pepsi genuinely shares our passion for the game,” – DraftKings

“The Pepsi brand and its longstanding synergy with pro football hardly need an introduction,” said Ezra Kucharz of DraftKings. “This gives DraftKings a special opportunity to team up with an organization that genuinely shares our passion for the game.”

Quoted in a press release, the chief business officer of DraftKings added: “Our player community cannot get enough football. Collaborating to launch the Pepsi Live Prediction Challenge on DraftKings helps to satiate this ever-growing demand. It also further stokes the fans’ competitive flames through new innovation.”

The Pepsi Challenge collaborators are both international giants in their fields. Pepsi is hugely dominant in the world-wide soft drink industry and DraftKings in Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS).

The sports gaming company offers DFS across 13 professional sports in eight countries including the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia.

Last year when the prohibition on US sports betting lifted, it was New Jersey’s first online sportsbook to launch. Today, along with FanDuel, a fellow DFS operator, it is one of the market leaders in the Garden State. And as we know, NJ is the current pack-leader in the US sports-betting revolution.

Outside of New Jersey, DraftKings is on the move. It is also operating sportsbooks in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Mississippi, with many more planned.
