It has been two years since C.J. Mosley played a game in the NFL, but the linebacker is ready to return to Pro Bowl form. He signed an $85 million five-year deal with the New York Jets before the 2019 season but a groin injury limited Mosley to action in just part of two games. Then he opted out of the 2020 season after consulting with family members.
He is back on the field now at the Jets OTA’s and looking forward to working with new coach Robert Saleh. The Jets have added middle linebacker Jarrad Davis from the Lions to play with Mosley as they try to improve from a 2-14 season.
Mosley, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Baltimore Ravens, is listed on DraftKings as +3300 to win the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award for the 2021 season. The Jets over/under for wins is 6.5, with the over at +112 and the under at -136. They are +490 to make the 2021 playoffs.
The Jets are +4 in the season-opening game at Carolina on Sunday, September 12. They are +180 on the money line, and the game total is 43.5 points.
Market Changes for Julio Jones
After Julio Jones went on national TV earlier this week and said, “I’m outta there” about Atlanta, the trade market for the superstar wide receiver has changed. Sources told ESPN and NFL Network this week that the Falcons had a first-round pick on the table in an offer, and there were other reports that the team has had discussions with the Tennessee Titans.
Last Saturday, Jones was -150 to stay with the Falcons, but after the interview on FS1, he is now +600 to remain with the only team he has known. The Indianapolis Colts have dropped from +500 to +1000, with the New England Patriots now the favorites to land Jones at +450. The Pats opened at +700 behind the Los Angeles Chargers, who have moved from +500 to +900.
The Los Angeles Rams are a serious bidder for the wideout’s services after already upgrading at quarterback this winter with Matt Stafford. The Rams opened at +6600 but are now +500 even though they don’t have a first-round pick in 2022 to offer Atlanta. The Titans are also +500 after opening at +800. The San Francisco 49ers have held at +800 throughout.
The other two big movers in the market were the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens. The Jags opened at +5000 but are now +900 to land Jones. Meanwhile, the Ravens have gone from +600 to +1200.
Tebow Props Drawing Bets
After the Jacksonville Jaguars officially signed Tim Tebow to play tight end last week, prop bets for the former Heisman Trophy winner popped up and started seeing action. The Station Casino in Las Vegas said the touchdown prop bet took more action on the first day than their Matthew Stafford prop bet, which has been up for six weeks.
DraftKings is offering Tebow to have more than 12.5 receiving yards on the season at +125 with the under at -159. Over 0.5 touchdowns is +225 while the under is -305. FanDuel posted a prop bet of “Will Tim Tebow play in an NFL game in 2021” with Yes at +190 and No at -265.
