OREGON DUCKS VS. USC TROJANS BETTING PREVIEW

The USC Trojans take on the Oregon Ducks in a battle of Pac-12 schools in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday night.

The Pac-12 already has one team in the Elite Eight, and with the USC Trojans facing the Oregon Ducks in the Sweet 16 on Sunday, we know the conference will have at least two teams in the next round. Seventh-seeded Oregon outlasted the sixth-seeded Trojans for the regular-season conference title this season, but USC won the only matchup between the teams.

This is the final matchup of the Sweet 16 with a 9:45 pm ET tip on TBS from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

USC won at home in February against the Ducks, taking a 21-point halftime lead on the way to a 72-58 final score. The home team has won the last four matchups between these teams, and USC has a 5-2 advantage over the last three years.

The winner of this game advances to the West Region final on Tuesday to face either top-seeded Gonzaga or fifth-seeded Creighton.

Ducks Flying High

Oregon is 15-13 ATS on the season, with the over going 18-10 in its games. The Ducks are 10-4 outside of Eugene.

The Ducks rank 49th in the nation at 46.9 percent shooting, and they are 27th in three-point shooting at 38 percent.
Oregon led the Pac-12 in three-point shooting on the season, and it is 15-1 when making at least at eight three-pointers in a game. The Ducks don’t rebound the ball well, ranking 253rd on the glass, and they are plus-1.5 overall in rebound margin.

The Ducks got an uncontested win in the first round when VCU had to withdraw from the tournament. They looked well-rested and blew Iowa off the floor 95-80 in the second round while shooting 56 percent from the field.

Chris Duarte made 9-of-12 shots against Iowa to finished with 23 points. He averages 17 points per game and shoots 53 percent from the field.

LJ Figueroa scored 21 points against Iowa, while Will Richardson and Eugene Omoruyi both had 17.

Mobleys Lead the Trojans

USC is 18-13 ATS on the season, and the over is 16-14-1 in its 31 games. The Trojans are 11-5 outside of Los Angeles. Their defense is 11th in the country, allowing 39.1 percent shooting, and they are plus-7.2 on the glass.

USC led the Pac-12 in rebounding, and it grabs 12 offensive boards per game, among the best in the nation. The Trojans’ big downfall has been at the free-throw line, where they rank 325th in the country at 64.4 percent.

USC (24-7) knocked off Drake in the first round before destroying third-seeded Kansas 85-51 in the second round. The Trojans shot 57 percent against Kansas and 50 percent against Drake. They have made 17 three-pointers so far in the tournament on 36 attempts.

Isaiah Mobley led USC with 17 points against the Jayhawks, and his brother, Evan, had a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double. Overall, the Trojans put five players in double figures with balance scoring against Kansas.

Evan Mobley was the Pac-12 Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. He averages 16.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and three blocks per game, though he missed the first game against the Ducks with an injury.

Betting Analysis

This matchup is a traditional outside vs. inside battle. Oregon is at its best when running and connecting from distance, as it did against Iowa.

Meanwhile, the Trojans run the offense through the Mobleys and rely on rebounding, defense and their inside game. They will look to neutralize the perimeter as they did in the first matchup and make the Ducks one-dimensional.
