The Monday Night Football matchup for Week 7 is between the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams. The game is set for 8:15 pm ET at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
Both of these teams have winning records, but they have barely squeaked out some of those games. Neither of them is getting much respect as one of the top teams in the league.
The only loss for the Bears came in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts. They haven’t been putting up a load of points, but their defense keeps them in most games.
On the other hand, the Rams have a capable offense with plenty of weapons, but they don’t always show up to play.
Bears Leaning on Defense
The Bears haven’t had an explosive offense to outscore opponents. They rely on their defense to keep them in low-scoring games.
Much of that is due to the presence of Khalil Mack. He missed practice on Friday and is listed as questionable for this game. If he has to miss or isn’t at 100%, it will be a huge blow to Chicago.
Nick Foles has thrown for six touchdowns and four interceptions so far this season. After replacing Mitchell Trubisky, he has had his ups and downs.
In the NFC North, the Packers picked up their fifth win on Sunday, so they are now sharing the top spot with the Bears. These two should be neck-and-neck for the top spot for the majority of the season.
Rams Perfect at New Home
So far, the Rams are 2-0 in their new home, Sofi Stadium. Their only two losses this season have come against the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers. The Rams also have a great defense and possibly one of the best players in the league in Aaron Donald.
Jared Goff has thrown 10 touchdowns and four interceptions this year. Sometimes, the Rams’ offense looks great, and other times they struggle. But this year, they do have a great defense that can create some turnovers.
Cooper Kupp has been the top target for Goff. He has 31 receptions for 374 yards and two touchdowns.
This team is scoring more points and allowing fewer than the Bears. They are the favorites in this one.
Prediction
I expect a great showing for both defenses in this one. The ability of Mack to play due to his back injury will be something to watch.
The Rams are -6 on the spread and have a -278 moneyline. The over/under is set at 45.5.
I believe that this game is going to be close and will come down to the final possession. The Bears don’t make it look pretty, but they have found a way to stay in games and compete. That will happen again in this matchup.
I’m not taking the Bears outright but will take them at +6. Foles will play just good enough to keep them in this game.
I am also expecting great defense from both teams. Neither offense has been consistent this season, so I’m going to take the under.
