Mike Evans is elated that Tom Brady is to become the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ starting quarterback.

Three-time Pro Bowler Evans is over the moon that he’ll soon be catching passes from the man many consider to be the greatest quarterback of all time.

Brady confirmed on Friday that he had signed-up with the Buccaneers. This followed his earlier announcement that as a first-time free agent he would be leaving the New England Patriots.

Brady played in nine and won six Super Bowls during his triumphant 20-year run with New England. On the other hand Evans, a first-round Buks’ pick in 2014, has not yet played in a post-season game.

However, in a live stream for the game Fortnite, Evans sounded highly upbeat about the possibility of the drought ending now that Brady was on board.

“It’s surreal! He’s going to be my quarterback, bro,” Evans exclaimed

“I’ve played six years in the NFL and I haven’t been to the playoffs yet. Tom Brady has won six Super Bowls.”

“Bro, I’ve been on that Hennessy, man, celebrating. I got Tom Brady – you know what I’m saying?”

Despite Tampa Bay’s collective struggles, Evans has been one of their major success stories and in fact he might be one of the key reasons Brady chose Tampa Bay.

Brady unhappy with Patriots 2020 offence

It is well known that he was unhappy with the Patriots offence last season when the Tennessee Titans stopped them from making their 10th Super Bowl appearance.

Evans made the All-American college first team while at home-state Texas A&M. He was also the seventh overall pick of his draft – and the 6ft.5in .231-pounder has certainly justified it.

He surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first half a dozen campaigns in the NFL so far. And that’s a feat only equaled by Randy Moss, ironically one of Brady’s favorite receivers.

According to NFL’s statistics, during his League career to date, Evans can lay claim to making 462 receptions from 7,270 receiving yards. And from those he has made 48 touchdowns.
