Odell Beckham’s recent misadventures after the national college football championship were forgotten Tuesday.

No mention was made of them when his NFL team, the Cleveland Browns, announced that he had just undergone core muscle surgery.

Beckham, a star wide receiver, had bravely played through the season with the injury and waited until the off-season to have the operation.

A team statement read: “The surgery was performed by Dr. Bill Meyers in Philadelphia, and a full recovery is expected.

“Beckham dealt with injuries throughout his first season with the Browns but never missed a game.”

There were question marks about the three-time Pro Bowler’s future after Cleveland went to 6-10 in the regular 2019 NFL season, but he affirmed his commitment to the franchise in December.

Beckham caught 74 passes for 1035 yards and 4 TDs

Beckham caught 74 passes for 1,035 yards and four touchdowns in his first campaign with the Browns. Previously he had played for the New York Giants.

Less than two weeks ago Beckham, 27, was charged with ‘simple battery’. This was after he slapped a security officer’s buttocks while celebrating LSU’s defeat of Clemson in the National College Championship.

A former LSU Tiger’s star, Beckham had also raised eyebrows earlier when he rushed onto the field after LSU’s victory. He was videoed handing out bundles of Dollar notes to some of the players.

There were reports that it was all done in jest and that the notes were not real.
