DraftKings has brought the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup into play as its 13th Daily Fantasy Sports game. It is already available to its’ millions of nation-wide gamers.

The New Jersey gaming company has in the past year been building up a reputation for being one of the Garden State’s major sports wagering operators. However, even before it became the first of NJ’s 14 sportsbooks to take a bet online, it already had millions of DFS players.

DraftKings said it would draw on its data capabilities to collect match/player information to help fans build their DFS selections.

Customers will be given the choice between Classic and Showdown modes for all World Cup matches.

They’ll be asked to select six-player teams while staying within a $50,000 salary cap range for each team. They will also have to designate a “captain’s” slot that grants one player a bonus multiplier.

It’s the first time NJ World Cup fans can make sports bets

Women’s World Cup fans in NJ will also, for the first time ever, be able to bet online with DraftKings. Sports betting, however, is only legal within the borders of the sportsbook operator’s state. It is currently restricted by the Wire Act of 1961.

New Jersey-based online DFS, on the other hand, is available in all US states. It is also available in eight other countries around the world, including Canada, the UK, and Australia.

Matt Kalish, DraftKings CRO, was “excited” at being able to offer fans “a more engaging way to enjoy the action.”

“The passion of our fans informs our innovation and product roadmap. This special event only comes along every four years. We wanted to ensure that our full complement of offerings would be at their fingertips,” he said.
