Atlantic City’s Borgata Casino is set to open a luxurious new sports bar and betting lounge on June 29.
Costing $13m and called the ‘Moneyline Bar and Book,’ it plans to give sports punters a gaming experience second to none.
Marcus Glover, Borgata’s president and chief operating officer, made this clear in an interview with Associated Press this week.
He said: “We want to provide our guests with an experience that is more than merely transactional for sports wagering.
“We felt Borate’s guests deserved something that would advance the market. It would bring together sports, culinary, entertainment, gaming, and nightlife into a single destination experience.”
Betting getting six windows and self-service kiosks
Borgata will be offering more than increased, up-market facilities and entertainment. Its multi-million dollar project will also increase the sports betting capacity of both its existing sport and racing books.
It’s doing this by adding six new betting windows as well as some self-service betting kiosks.
Also, it is bringing together sports betting and traditional Casino gaming activities. Nineteen slot machines are being built into the sports bar and four blackjack tables set up in the sports lounge.
Borgata runs one of the oldest sportsbooks in New Jersey. It was not the first operator to launch one after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on sportsbooks last year. DraftKings did that.
Nor was it the site of the State’s first-ever wager. Monmouth Park Race Track can claim that distinction. It was, however, the first Atlantic City Casino’s to accept a bet.
In a little over a year since then, New Jersey’s betting industry has swelled to 14 sportsbooks with more on the way. Significantly they have taken in more than $2.6 billion in sports wagers.
