AGA’s Slane honored at Forty Under-40 awards

Sara Slane has been named as one of the most influential under-40 voices in the US sports business.

This by the respected ‘Sports Business Journal’ which recognised her at the 20th edition of its Forty Under-40 awards.

Slane is the senior vice president of public affairs at the American Gaming Association (AGA). That is to say, she was among the 40 sports league, sports team, technology, and industry executives acknowledged for their excellence and innovation.

However, in her case, she gets it for being one of the most influential voices in the US sports business.

Similarly, Bill Miller, AGA’s President, and CEO had high praise for Slane.

Slane a key figure in getting sports betting legalized

“Sara played an outsized role in creating the opportunity for legalized sports betting to exist in the US,” he said.

“As the industry’s lead advocate, she successfully united the gaming, sports and entertainment industries. She brought lawmakers to the table and drove a communication campaign that delivered a historic policy outcome.

“This Forty Under-40 awards recognition is not only well deserved, but, is shared by stakeholders within and outside our industry,” he concluded.

Slane has been tireless in leading the AGA campaign to educate policymakers, sports stakeholders and the public about sports betting.

She has been especially effective in making the case that legal, regulated sports betting is a deterrent to illegal wagering.

Her leadership in this initiative greatly assisted New Jersey in its Supreme Court battle to successfully overturn PASPA.
