888sports must be pretty sure that the All Blacks are going to be triumphant for a 4th time in the World Rugby Cup in Japan later this year.
New Jersey sports bookmakers are offering 2019 Rugby World Cup odds of the New Zealand team winning at 11/10, of finishing in the top two at 1/3 and of heading the Pool B table at 1/10.
What this means, of course, is that you are going to have to put down 10 dollars to win 11 for a NZ win or 3 dollars to win 1 for a Top 2 place or 10 dollars to win just one for winning their pool.
And you can be pretty sure that the other New Jersey sportsbooks offering future bets on the Rugby World Cup will have similar sentiments
Since the first World Cup matches were jointly staged by Australia and New Zealand in 1987, the men from the land of the Silver Fern have won it a record three times, the first two on home soil in 1987 and 2011, the third in England on the last occasion it was played in 2015.
In the in-between years Australia and South Africa have each won it twice and England once but even in those years, New Zealand have always been the dominant force in Rugby Union so it is no surprise that they are once more the big World Cup favorites.
Rugby World Cup Favorites History
Luckless France has finished as the Rugby World Cup favorites three times, Australia and England Twice and New Zealand once.
South Africa has twice finished third as has New Zealand, but Ireland, a new force in the game, are ranked this time as the distant second favorites to New Zealand despite never having got up among the top three in any previous World Cup.
Clearly, because they beat the All Blacks at home in 2018 and captured the Six Nations-Crown, they are right up there now in second place behind ‘Enzed’ with odds of 7/2 for a win and 7/4 to finish among the Top two.
They are followed by England (8/1 and 5/2), South Africa (9/1 and 7/2), Australia (12/1 and 11/4) and (Wales 14/1 and 9/2).
But below we give you the future odds on all 24 teams that on January 22, 2019, had either already qualified for the World Cup or were still attempting to earn a place in the A, B, C and D groups made up of four teams each.
One slot in each group was still vacant
A final word; the All Blacks have not been as formidable this year as in the past. Their opposition seems to have found counters to their brilliant running game and they have not liked it
Apart from their Irish defeat, they were also beaten at home by an inexperienced South African team who they should have never allowed to come back and squeeze them home in their return away game.
There have been two or three good World Cup years to bet against them. This year might just be one of them.
